Renting vacation cottages with great care
Muhonen's vacation cottages are a family business that started its operations in 1980 and has been passed down from generation to generation in Southern Savonia.
It is important to us that our customers feel as comfortable as possible when visiting our cottages. We are happy to answer any questions and provide more information about our cottages and activities in the surrounding area. Our cottages are suitable for singles, couples, and families alike. Many of our customers return to vacation in our cottages year after year!

Cosy vacation cottages by the lakeside
Our cottages, Red Clover, Sunflower, and Lily, are situated by the pristine waters amidst nature. Our holiday cottages are available for booking from March to the end of the year, so you can come and stay with us for a spring or autumn getaway, spend the summer, or relax with your family during the Christmas holidays.
You can enjoy an extended stay in our homely cottages. All our cottages are located by the same body of water, and each cottage has its own yard, allowing you to spend your cottage holiday in peace and privacy.
The cottages Sunflower and Lily were painted in the spring of 2021 along with all the buildings on their premises. The Red Clover cottage and all the buildings in its yard were painted between 2022 and 2023. Additionally, various other renovations have been made to all the cottages, including the replacement of all cottage textiles and the treatment of saunas. All cottages were also electrified in 2021, and running water (cold/hot) was installed for all cottages in the summer of 2022. Furthermore, our holiday cottages' website underwent a complete redesign in the summer of 2021.
Versatile activities
All our cottages are equipped with multiple fishing rods, newly renovated dartboards, and outdoor games such as croquet, petanque, and cottage games, as well as a hammock and sun loungers for relaxation.
Additionally, you can rent Indian canoes, SUP boards, inflatable boats, and fish traps.
The surrounding terrain offers plenty of activities, from hiking and swimming to hunting. In the forests, you'll also find ample berry-picking and mushroom-picking spots during the appropriate seasons.
In addition to enjoying nature's offerings, you can come and admire and meet the domestic animals in the host couple's nearby yard by prior arrangement. All animals are friendly, and even the chickens are adorable lap chickens.

In the heart of a national landscape
Muhonen's Holiday Cottages are located in Lohilahti, Sulkava, in Southern Savonia, amidst Finland's most beautiful national landscape, surrounded by numerous bodies of water. The surrounding forests offer activities for everyone, whether your hobbies include hiking, hunting, or fishing.
Lohilahti is conveniently located less than an hour's drive from Imatra and about half an hour from the centre of Sulkava. Just five kilometres away from Lohilahti centre, you'll also find the K village shop and a petrol station-restaurant called Majakka. The village shop also serves as a postal agency, and Majakka additionally houses a pharmacy's medicine cabinet.
